In its 60 years of its existence, MRT1 has involved itself actively in facilitating early education and specialized health care for the under privileged younger generation. Building on the two primary strengths, Education and Healthcare, MRT1 has taken on a remarkable social responsibility of developing up a healthy future generation for the country.
Education
Keeping with Round Table India’s theme of “Freedom through Education, MRT1’s permanent project The Lady Nye Madras Round Table No.1 Special Higher Secondary School, Pallipattu ensures a positive future and free education for the 650 day scholars and residential support for 200 orphans and children from single-parent homes. Over the years MRT1 has supported the construction of multiple classrooms, Auditorium and complete overhaul of the drainage & water pipes as well as built a new toilet block for the school. Other projects to develop the facilities at the school are also under evaluation.

Healthcare and Other Projects:
MRT1’s member pool has a rich heritage of medical professionals and individuals who are passionate about delivering quality healthcare to people who cannot afford it. From big-ticket projects like funding the ENT block at the Voluntary Health Services campus and sponsoring heart surgeries for underprivileged children to supporting regular preventive medical camps at schools and slums, MRT1’s healthcare projects span the gamut.
